Poesia e abstração

Apesar de ser Doutor em Letras, em Literatura Comparada, confesso que pouco li de poesias, ao longo de minha carreira acadêmica. Meu foco e especialização são os romances e o teatro. Mesmo durante a graduação tive apenas dois períodos onde me debrucei sobre poesia: um deles foi sobre poesia britânica - e Shakespeare reinou absoluto - e o outro foi poesia norte-americana. Robert Frost foi norte-americano e é considerado um dos maiores poetas do cânone literário de seu país. Pela primeira vez, sentei-me para ler um livro inteiro de poesia e de apenas um autor. Mesmo Doutor e professor há quase 19 anos, não me envergonho de dizer que teria que estudar muito e reler este livro uma, ou talvez duas ou três vezes para fazer uma resenha que fizesse jus ao autor. É preciso muita abstração, muita imersão e mente limpa de quaisquer outros pensamentos e, principalmente, preocupação, para realmente absorver o máximo de uma obra como essa. Não foi o meu caso nesse momento.
