This book has 431 oversized pages of Rush music, with music and lyrics for every song from Finding My Way to Countdown (it stops at the Signals album since it was published in 1983). Also contains Broon's Bane from ESL. The music is arranged for piano along with full transcriptions of vocals (with a few exceptions, one being 'each of us...' in Freewill). The arrangements sound great for the most part, though some of the more dissonant bits in songs like Cygnus X-1 are are only friendly to the Rush-fan's ear. With a lack of drum accompaniment, many of the songs sound odd as written but others (like the Necromancer) sound particularly fabulous. I should also not that the transcriber made no attempt to water down the music to make it more playable; even knowing the every song in the book by heart, there was no easy sightreading to be found - every song took several hours to be able to play with any amount of recognizance. Now, I would consider myself a very casual pianist, but I can read the staff fluently and anyone who can do that and who can count to 4 should be able to play a good number of the songs here with no problem. For those more fluent on the guitar, graphical chord structures are provided on every chord of every song.

With that said, the transcriptions of the impossibly crazy time and key signatures are never compromised for simplicity. Here's some examples: Losing it - 5/8 time with 6 flats; Natural Science - 11 key changes and 7 time changes; Different Strings - 16 time changes; Jacob's Ladder - 43 time changes; 2112 - 30 time changes and 12 key changes; Cygnus X-1 - 38 time changes; AND THE WINNER, Hemispheres - 90 time changes!
