Poppy Bloom planned to finish her PhD and walk straight into a job at her university. But here she is, unemployed, unceremoniously dumped by her boyfriend, and living back at her mum’s in her vampire-themed childhood bedroom. Not exactly what she was hoping for. But when Poppy sets her mind to something, nothing can stand in her way. She scores herself an internship at the hottest radio station in town, joins a netball team, and renews her friendship with her oldest friend Leanne. Spending time with Leanne’s gorgeous twin Tom is just a bonus… But life has a way of tripping you up when you least expect it, and Poppy soon has to decide where her priorities lie… With new friends, a new career and a new romance, can Poppy keep everyone happy, or is everything about to tumble down around her? A laugh-out-loud story about friendship, second chances, and new love, perfect for fans of Lindsey Kelk, Marian Keyes and Jane Costello.

    Colleen Coleman

Colleen was born in Canada and raised along the Wild Atlantic Way on the beautiful West Coast of Ireland. She knew it was time to take her writing seriously when she was crowned the winner of the much-coveted Novelicious Undiscovered People’s Choice Award launched to find the next ‘chick-lit star.’ She spent years teaching English and Philosophy to teenagers before finally taking a deep breath, scrunching both eyes shut, putting her pen to paper and vowing not to lift it again until she wrote the words 'the end'. It worked and within months she was signed by hot-ticket publishers Bookouture. Her first novel, Don't Stop Me Now was born and became a Kindle top 20 bestseller in the UK, US, Europe and Australia. Her second novel, I'm Still Standing, set in Ireland with a full cast of Irish characters, captured readers’ hearts all over again and became another international smash-hit. Writing day and night, and often in cafés serving good lemon drizzle cake, is currently working on her third and fourth novels which will be released in 2018. When not writing she spends time between London, Ireland and Cyprus and winding up her very patient husband and chatty twin daughters. Writing day and night, and often in cafés serving good lemon drizzle cake, is currently working on her third and fourth novels which will be released in 2018. ‘Colleen has the rare ability to combine laugh-out-loud moments with incredible poignancy. Don’t Stop Me Now has already gained her a huge fanbase, and I’m so thrilled we havemore books to come from her.’ Bookouture Commissioning Editor Abigail Fenton Colleen added. ‘I’m absolutely thrilled to sign another book deal with Bookouture and I look forward to what the year ahead brings! After receiving such an incredible response from my readers so far, I’m really looking forward to continuing my journey with my readers with the help of my fantastic editor and the rest of this dynamic and brilliant team!’ I was raised in an Irish pub. My family owned a pub and restaurant on the West coast of Ireland where I worked behind the bar, in the kitchen and on tables (waitressing!). Being surrounded by such a constant and diverse stream of people and their conversations whether they were tipsy or sober, tourists or locals, after happy or sad milestones such as weddings or funerals, gave me a very special insight into the drama and dialogue of ordinary life. This insight certainly fuelled fascination with storytelling and real-life characters that I have tried to nurture all my life, especially in my writing. I have the biggest coffee addiction. I can't even make eye contact with anyone without half a pot of coffee to start my day. Curry and karaoke is my idea of a perfect date. I love singing cheesy songs badly and I love hearing others sing cheesy songs badly. Throw in some samosas and I’m there. A clairvoyant told me I’d be a successful author. .. but that I needed to pull my finger out and get on with it. I went to an all-girls convent boarding school on the West Coast of Ireland. For five years and really loved it. I made the best friends in the world. I have twin girls. I brought different coloured nail varnish to the hospital delivery room to help distinguish them. However, when the second one arrived ginger we knew we wouldn’t have any trouble telling them apart. I swim a lot. Even the idea of plunging into water just makes me feel better. It is one of my favourite things to do in the whole world and couldn’t live without it. If I’m having trouble clearing my head or working out a story knot, a swim always sorts me out. I got what I wished for... On graduating from school, the two things I wanted to do more than anything else was to teach someone to read and write a book. Hence, I became an English teacher! Teaching has taken me all over the world; Canada, USA, The Middle East, India, Australia, Germany, Cyprus and most memorably, my many years in central London where I fell head over heels for my lovely teacher husband Julian! I read ALL of my reviews. Sometimes over and over! I write for my readers, so feedback really is the best gift that I can receive from them in return. The good and the not-so-good! If a person has taken the time to write a review then the least I can do is take the time to read it and really take in what they are feeling. Regularly, the reviews and private messages move me to tears. It is a staggering gift to be able to reach out to someone with a story or a message and make them feel better or empowered. This is my favourite feeling in the world. I love radio. I listen to the radio at every opportunity; in the car, in the kitchen, in the bath. I love the randomness of song choice and chat; I guess that love of music and he power it has to lift your mood is reflected in the feel-good titles of my books.
