Depois da Meia-Noite traz quatro histórias avulsas estilo terror.

A primeira, Os Langoliers, teve a duvidosa honra de ser adaptada para a TV. É uma boa história, beira a ficção científica - em um avião, um grupo de pessoas acorda para descobrir que quase 90% da tripulação desapareceu em pleno vôo... O mais interessante desse conto é a o passo-a-passo feito para descobrir o que está acontecendo e o porquê do título.

Janela Secreta, Jardim Secreto é uma reciclagem do tema "escritor paranoico encontra seu nêmeses". É puro terror psicológico e a melhor história da coletânea.

O Policial da Biblioteca é uma história forte tratando de abuso infantil. Não é um tema do qual King se esquiva e aqui ele não pensa duas vezes antes de apertar a garganta de quem lê com as memórias de Sam (um dos personagens principais).

A obra fecha com O Cão da Polaroid, em que somos novamente levados a Castle Rock - a cidade favorita do autor. Esse conto se interlaça com vários outros, mas especialmente com "O Outono da Inocência - O Corpo".

Não espere muitas referências a Torre Negra aqui, mas divirta-se procurando.
