When Mele Bart told her boyfriend Bobby she was pregnant with his child, he stunned her with an announcement of his own: he was engaged to someone else. Kaui Hart Hemmings is an American writer who was born and raised in Hawaii. She attended Colorado College and graduated in 1998. Her debut novel The Descendants was adapted by Alexander Payne, Nat Faxon, and Jim Rash[1] into the highly acclaimed 2011 American film The Descendants, starring George Clooney.[2] Hemmings had previously published a collection of her stories in the book House of Thieves. She also wrote "How to party with an infant " published 2016.
