The story follows Babe, a kind pig who leaves the farm after Farmer Hoggett has an accident. Babe travels to a big city with Mrs. Hoggett because they need money. In the city, Babe stays in a strange hotel full of animals. He meets many new characters, like a group of trained dogs, a kind chimpanzee, and other animals who have difficult lives. The city is not easy. There is danger, confusion, and many problems. Babe does not understand everything, but he always tries to do the right thing. At one point, Babe helps the animals when they are in trouble. Because of this, he gets into problems with humans. Still, he stays calm and kind.
