O livro abrange desde seu alistamento até o fim da guerra, descrevendo várias missões e momentos importantes de sua carreira militar.

Leitura muito rica, é sempre interessante ter acesso a mais relatos do lado alemão, assim como conhecer os pensamentos e opiniões do autor sobre questões militares e políticas. Só senti falta de descrições mais profundas das aeronaves pilotadas.
