Lady Felicity é nossa heroína que comete alguns pequenos deslizes - como ser encontrada sozinha no quarto de um homem - e termina sendo posta no ostracismo pela sociedade. Tentando mostrar que ainda faz parte do jogo, ela anuncia estar noiva do solteiro mais popular da estação, o duque de Marwick.

O homem em questão é o vilão do livro. E não, esse não é um livro com a dinâmica vilão-mocinha.

O par romântico de Felicity é Devil - senhor do crime londrino e irmão bastardo do alvo - que promete ajudá-la para poder, na realidade, destruir seus planos e garantir que o duque nunca encontre a felicidade.

É bem divertido e absurdo.
