Tenho um grande amor pela escrita da Ursula K. Le Guin, descrições lindas que vem do coração, personagens ricamente desenvolvidos, e um mundo repleto de magia.
No segundo livro do ciclo de Terramar, conhecemos Tenar, uma menina retirada da sua mãe quando ainda tinha cinco anos de idade. Ela é levada até as tumbas de Atuan para ser a sacerdotisa dos Inominados, deuses das trevas e cruéis. Ela é a responsável por cuidar das Tumbas subterrâneas, um lugar de trevas que não deve nunca ver a luz, e onde também fica o Labirinto e sua sala de tesouros, dados em nome dos deuses por reis e mercantes.
Um dia, ao entrar nas Tumbas ela encontra o que não esperava nunca ver lá : luz, e um intruso que utilizava magia.
Esse é um livro bem curtinho mas extremamente precioso. Acompanhamos o desenvolvimento da personagem principal, que criada aprendendo a desacreditar em tudo que não fossem os deuses e suas trevas, vemos como aos poucos ela começa a crescer e a questionar essa realidade, a realidade dos deuses que ela venera e a crueldade que eles impõem a ela. Quando ela conhece Ged, ela também se vê confrontando o preconceito na qual ela foi criada, sobre feiticeiros serem apenas criaturas traiçoeiras e ilusórias.
Os dois primeiros livros de Terramar são incríveis, eles sempre possuem uma mensagem por trás da sua história, seja sobre a liberdade, sobre ganância, sobre consequências ou o crescimento... São histórias maravilhosas! O universo criado pela autora não é apresentado tanto nesse segundo livro quanto foi no primeiro, e mesmo assim ele não deixa de encantar o leitor.
