Nasceu em 11 de fevereiro de 1984 e ficou conhecido pelas graphic novels O gosto do cloro e, posteriormente, por Amitié étroite (Amizade). Graduou-se em Animação pela Gobelins após estudar três anos de Design Gráfico. Iniciou sua carreira em uma oficina de quadrinhos que ajudou a fundar em Paris. Desde então publicou diversos trabalhos, vários deles aclamados pela crítica. Um desenhista em plena evolução, Vivès é um dos principais nomes dos quadrinhos contemporâneos.
