Money or love? Which is more important in life? Can money buy anything? Can it help a young man top marry the girl he loves? Does money really make people happy, or does it just cause problems? We all know how difficult love can be. When you meet someone you like, there are so many things that can go wrong, sometimes because you are trying too hard, sometimes because of a misunderstanding. These four plays about money, love and life are adapted from short stories written a hundred years ago by the great American storyteller O. Henry. Henry had his own difficulties with money and loneliness, and wrote from personal experience.

    One Thousand Dollars

Gillian's uncle passed away and left to him a heritage of one thousand dollars. At the lawyer office, he needs to know how to spend this money. He thinks about this and asks to his friend for a help. After thinking, thinking and thinking his heart speaks loud and he writes a letter leaving this money to his uncle ward and this was a surprise to the lawyer. The reaction was that his uncle left a information that the way how this money was spent would be a consequence. After the information, Gillian acts again thinking with his heart and the end is cute when he leaves the money to the love of his life. And for me it was a surprise, because I didn't believe who was his love. At the beginnig Gillian seemed selfish and childish, but it was wrong and I loved his behavior and liked his thought in a unlikely person.
