Este livro não precisava ser escrito. Simples assim. Ele não apresenta nada de novo, original, empolgante ou satisfatório.
A ideia de recriar a história de Rumpelstiltskin é legal porque nunca vi nada disso antes, mas pra ser assim, era melhor deixar como estava.

Marie é muito sem graça. Não consegui me importar com ela em nenhum momento e isso se estende a Rafe, que é o típico par amoroso da protagonista, lindo de morrer, valente e só.
Enquanto estavam no acampamento, Rafe foi o centro da atenção de todas as mulheres e eu me perguntava por qual razão.
Os demais personagens pecaram pela falta de personalidade.

A trama tinha potencial, mas Melanie Cellier não conseguiu desenvolver bem, nem adaptar o conto de modo a cativar o leitor. Era palpável a fragilidade do plot central e os subplots não serviram de nada.
De todos os livros da série e do spin-off que li, esse é o que tem menos diálogo, mas nem isso posso elogiar. Os poucos diálogos que tinham não eram naturais nem bem escritos.

Eu sinto que me esforcei mais para não abandonar o livro do que a escritora para escrever uma linha sequer que fosse decente.
