Uma releitura interessante

Eu li o livro e ouvi o audiobook simultaneamente, e posso dizer que é a melhor maneira de fazer essa leitura.

Circe é uma feiticeira presente na Odisseia, onde ela é conhecida por viver um breve romance com Ulisses e por transformar homens em porcos. Neste livro, ela é a protagonista, e a autora preencheu os buracos da mitologia verdadeira para nos entregar sua interpretação da vida de Circe.

Eu gostei muito da escrita da Madeline Miller: é muito bonita e compatível com a história. Ela discute muito a política entre os deuses, evidenciando o paralelo entre a imortalidade e o ego desses personagens. Além disso, eu sempre gostei de mitologia, então foi muito nostálgico quando alguns deuses e heróis gregos apareceram nas páginas.

Em relação aos pontos negativos: a primeira metade foi muito melhor do que a segunda, na minha opinião. No início, nós vemos a evolução da Circe até que ela vá para o isolamento na ilha de Aiaia e suas interações com diversos personagens famosos da mitologia. Já na segunda metade, o foco muda e eu achei muito desinteressante e enrolado.

Fico feliz por ter lido, mas só indico para fãs de mitologia grega.
