Every once in a while, the world undergoes a great transformation in which fantastic phenomena become the norm of reality. Colors abound. Strange sounds come out of nowhere. Monsters roam around. Magic is possible. It's the Dreamtime. Caught in the midst of it is Blaze, a boy who has a strong distaste for the Dreamtime because of the dangers it presents and because there is no one else there with him. For some reason, during the Dreamtime, every other person disappears, except for him. To make matters worse, Blaze had a falling-out with his best friend and gets harassed by a being he calls “the Voice.” Drowning in hopelessness, he spends most of his time secluded in his room, where he feels safer in case the next Dreamtime comes. Then, one day, a mysterious girl moves into the house next door...
