A escrita é extensivamente descritiva e narrativa. Digo isso pra sinalizar que os diálogos são poucos e isso foi um pouco difícil de atravessar. Em certo momento, deixei de perceber essa característica da escrita do livro e a leitura se tornou mais fluída a partir daí. A história é, em boa parte, diferente do filme. Ainda assim, é uma maravilha de aproveitar a história das quatro mulheres em seus papéis de mães, filhas, tias, sobrinhas e, principalmente, irmãs.
