Madeline era comandante da Estação Espacial Fortuna, quando feita prisioneira pelos Thrax. Eles a venderam para os Srivar, que tinham um ringue de luta subterrâneo. De lá, ela foi resgatada por Lore, que não só podia lutar como gladiador na Casa de Galeno, mas também tinha uma espécie de magia em suas mãos e um coração muito aberto para Madeline...
Foi muito divertido ler o livro, tinha personagens animados e interessantes, um enredo cheio de aventuras e surpresas.
