Comparado aos dois primeiros livros, esse tem uma pegada um pouco diferente. O Locke e a Sabetha são os pontos focais das duas histórias que são contadas. O livro é mais focado no desenvolvimento dos dois personagens e o relacionamento deles do que nas "heists" como os livros anteriores. O começo do livro pode ser um pouco lento, mas o final dele é sensacional e nos deixa na espera pelo "The Thorn of Emberlain".
