Cut off from the outside world, she and her family faced hunger, boredom, claustrophobia at living in confined quarters, and the ever-present threat of discovery and death. One day, she and her family were betrayed and taken away to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, where she eventually died. Anne Frank: Annelies Marie "Anne" Frank was a Jewish girl born in the city of Frankfurt, Germany. Her father moved to the Netherlands in 1933 and the rest of the family followed later. Anne was the last of the family to come to the Netherlands, in February 1934. She wrote a diary while in hiding with her family and four friends in Amsterdam during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II. She lived in Amsterdam with her parents and sister. During the Holocaust, Anne and her family hid in the attic of her father's office to escape the Nazis. It was during that time period that she had recorded her life in her diary. Anne died in Bergen-Belsen, in February 1945, at the age of 15.

Anne Frank nasceu em 12 de junho de 1929, em Frankfurt, Alemanha. Com a ascensão de Hitler ao poder, Anne, que contava com apenas quatro anos, e sua família, de origem judaica, se mudam para Amsterdã, na Holanda. Em 1942, com a crescente perseguição aos judeus também em território holandês, a família Frank esconde-se no sótão da empresa de Otto, pai de Anne. Neste ano, a jovem inicia a escrita de seu diário e conta sua vida durante o período em que estiveram escondidos, até as vésperas do infeliz dia em que os nazistas os encontram. Anne é levada ao campo de concentração em 1944 e morre de tifo, aos 15 anos. Alguns anos depois, Otto reorganiza o diário da filha e publica a obra que ficaria conhecida em todo o mundo, tornando-se uma das principais vozes de um dos capítulos mais traumáticos da nossa história.
