The Circus Memory Center, Department of Culture of the Municipality of Sao Paulo, is the first Brazilian institution devoted exclusively to the circus's culture. Its mission is to research, localize, retrieve, preserve, and gather, spread and broadcast the circus's memory, thus placing the circus in the spotlight of the Brazillain culture to which it is entitled...This book consolidates and crowns the implantation of the Circus Memory Center, occurred between 2008 and beginning of 2017. More than a final result, it presents processes that are still in development. It is a subject to be appropriated, questioned, supplemented. After all, the survey around Brazillian circus's history, important part of our country's history, is still being done.
