O que achei de... Rebel (+ quotes)

EDIÇÃO: Li no Kindle, então só posso dizer que as fontes diferentes ajudam a diferenciar entre as perspectivas do Daniel e do Eden. A diagramação é igual a dos anteriores, o que te deixa numa zona já familiar de leitura.
ESCRITA: O amadurecimento da escrita da Marie Lu é quase palpável. Legend foi seu primeiro livro, e Rebel chega com duas trilogias e uma duologia inteiras prontas, e caramba, como é bom ver a evolução dela. O ritmo de Legend sempre foi intenso, até porque são sempre duas perspctivas alternadas, eautora consegue passar a aura de tensão e expectativa do que estar por vir para o leitor.
ENREDO: O livro acontece algumas semanas depois do prólogo de Champion, aquele prólogo que deixou todo mundo chorando em posição fetal. Agora mergulhamos na futurista Ross City, na Antártida, cuja tecnologia avançada atribui pontos para seus cidadãos através de um sistema complexo de monitoramento. É claro, há falhas, falhas perigosas que são verdadeiras faíscas para o barril de pólvora das tensões sociais escondidas nos arranha-céus. Mais uma vez, Lu equilibra magistralmente o plano de fundo político com o arco dos personagens. As cenas de ação e reviravoltas foram ainda mais aprimoradas que as já incríveis da trilogia original.
PERSONAGENS: O livro é mais longo que os anteriores, e percebi que não foi para o desenrolar dos fatos, mas para a jornada pessoal de cada personagem. Eu sempre fico fascinada sobre como a autora consegue escrever personagens tão humanos - profundos, complexos, cada um com suas batalhas interiores. Eu não sabia o que esperar da perspectiva do Eden - qeu era uma criança no fim de Champion -, e a do Daniel é tão dolorosamente familiar que te tira o fôlego. Não temos a perspectiva da June, mas pelo o que podemos ver através dos irmãos Wing, ela própria tem seu arco, embora seja a que mais amadureceu no intervalo. O romance Daniel e June é algo que eu não consigo nem botar em palavras. Eu sinto tudo o que eles sentem. Quanto ao Eden, fui positivamente surpreendida e gostei demais dele. No entanto, a grande sacada do livro pra mim foi justamente a relação dele com o irmão. A beleza da jornada entre eles foi o que mais me cativou no livro inteiro.
+: Rebel foi o bálsamo de cura para o vazio deixado pelo fim de Champion. É um livro muito Marie Lu: você chora, ri, se procupa, fica com medo, grita, torce, e chora mais um pouco. É claro que a minha carga emocional já era muito forte (Legend era minha distopia favorita até o início desse mês), então os sentimentos são potencializados. Infelizmente, a leitura durou uns três meses, porque fui pega numa ressaca de e-books sem precedentes. Lamentavelmente, isso afeta a nota. Também não recebeu o favorito pois acho que o ápice do livro deveria ter tido uma resolução um tantinho diferente, apenas um fato alterado, e teria sido melhor, embora eu imagine o porquê da Marie Lu ter feito o que fez. O final, é claro, é de chorar rios. Fãs de Legend, é simplesmente imperdível.
