Ótima história, mas que peca em seus detalhes

Mais uma indicação de livro que pego do tiktok (não me orgulho muito disso), mas a primeira que realmente me surpreende.
É uma distopia entre Aniquilação (que adoro) e The Promised Neverland. Acho toda a atmosfera do livro interessante e o suspense se sustenta muito bem até o final.

Entretanto, senti um incômodo horrível com o desfecho inconsistente da Hetty em relação a tudo que ela sustentou durante o livro. Depois de ela ter passado a história inteira se martirizando pelo estrago de comida, ter surtado pelo descuido com o portão e a entrada do urso, ou até quando ela se culpou pelo furo da quarentena... Tudo isso porque ela se importava com a vida das meninas ali, mas SUBITAMENTE tudo isso é esquecido, pois ela simplesmente vai embora pela saída de emergência e deixa todas as meninas à própria sorte para morrerem para o urso gigante ou para os aviões de caça.

Não consigo me convencer. Era um livro que tem uma história super potente e instigante, mas que falha em amarrar alguns detalhes da sua história e peca em construir melhor seus personagens. Longe de ser ruim, é um livro que te prende até o final. Mas desaponta leitores mais engajados.
