Escapismo pra fazer pensar

Em tempos de plena informação (e da manipulação cada vez mais complexa dela), "It Came From The Sky" é escapismo que leva a sólidas reflexões.

O livro é sobre um garoto sem nenhum jeito para o social, mas com um potencial enorme para a ciência. Num experimento que dá errado, ele e o irmão abrem uma cratera enorme na fazenda dos pais.

Para fugir das consequências, eles inventam uma história absurda sobre isso ter sido obra de alienígenas. Nem preciso explicar que a coisa toma uma proporção enorme e muda o dia a dia da cidadezinha.

Eu particularmente adoro histórias sobre coisas que dão muito errado e viram uma bola de neve. E aqui é uma prova de que esse é um dos formatos mais interessantes de contar uma história.

No meio do caminho surgem personagens interessantíssimos, como o guru de um esquema de pirâmide (alguns preferem chamar de marketing multinível) e o namorado do protagonista que é o único outro gay assumido da escola.

A grande sacada do livro é como todos nós somps capazes de mover o mundo pra provar um ponto, pra se sentir importante, pra mostrar pra si mesmo que a vida é mais que um mero acaso.

O final é mais sombrio do que eu poderia esperar, deixando uma coisa meio sórdida no ar, mas sendo discreto o suficiente pra se manter adequado ao publico-alvo.

A autora ainda aproveita ao máximo todas as possibilidades de imprimir uma.estética documental à narrativa que deixa o livro fluido e delicioso.
