Para o primeiro livro de uma série, faz sentido que o autor foque em consolidar seus protagonistas. A proposta é diferente. Ela traz uma tentativa de exibir extremos ideológicos que se associam de certa forma ao passado de seus personagens e tecem uma relação interessante entre eles.
Apesar de gostar dessa abordagem - e achar esse um dos pontos fortes do livro -, senti que a trama de mistério em segundo plano deixou a desejar.

O autor perde oportunidades de abordar mais profundamente esses temas ao criar personagens secundários caricatos e motivações pouco críveis. A construção do suspensa é desleixada e o ritmo da leitura não ajuda a segurar um desfecho que é previsível já pela metade do livro.
