Hanif Kureishi
Nasceu em Bromley, sul de Londres, em 1954, de mãe inglesa e pai paquistanês. Estudou filosofia no King's College (Londres). É dramaturgo, contista e roteirista dos filmes Minha adorável lavanderia - ganhador de diversos prêmios e indicado para o Oscar em 1987 - e Sammy e Rosie, ambos dirigidos por Stephen Frears. Escreveu e dirigiu London kills me, filme lançado em 1991. Seu primeiro romance, o aclamado O buda do subúrbio, foi adaptado para a televisão pela BBC.
