Também conhecido pela sua tradução “Se não fosse você”— “Regretting You” é uma obra de Colleen Hoover que narra a trajetória de luto e suas dificuldades enquanto acompanhamos Morgan Grant e sua filha, Clara. Após uma tragédia impactar a vida da família, as duas acharão conforto em lugares e pessoas improváveis enquanto descobrem que são mais parecidas do que imaginavam. Um livro sobre família, juventude, traição e luto em um período doloroso na vida dos indivíduos.

Francamente esse foi um dos livros desta escritora que mais me causou frustração, ainda que seja totalmente intencional. A experiência me evocou sentimentos semelhantes com sua outra obra “As mil partes do meu coração”— onde os personagens possuem atitudes muitas vezes intragáveis, com pequenas excessões. Até alcançar a metade da história, o enredo possuía como maior objetivo causar um desconforto ao leitor, até enfim alcançar a reta final onde finalmente presenciamos uma resolução de deixar o coração preenchido. Não foi perfeita ou tornou-se minha favorita, contudo é inegável o quão fluída e cativante foi a experiência, pois não conseguia largar o livro nem por um segundo— independente de estar demasiada ocupada enquanto realiza a leitura.
