Anne Stuart nasceu em Filadélfia depois da Segunda Guerra Mundial, cresceu em Princeton, Nova Jérsia. A sua infância foi muito dura, mas conseguiu sobreviver e, inclusive, ir crescendo com a ajuda das suas histórias de amor. Lia vorazmente e começou a escrever romances quando estava no quinto ano. Aos vinte anos vivia só para o rock and roll e para as histórias românticas. Quando se fartou, mudou-se para Vermont para escrever a sua primeira novela romântica intitulada Barrett´s Hill. Vendeu-a à Ballantine e foi publicada em 1974, quando tinha apenas vinte e cinco anos. Em toda a sua trajetória, escreveu para quase todas as editoras, entre as quais se encontram: Dell, Doubleday, Berkley, St. Martin’s, Pocket Books, Avon, Signet, Cebra, Fawcett, Silhouette, Harlequin e MIRA.
