Darth Bane: Path of Destruction

“Path to Destruction” é a primeira parte da trilogia de Darth Bane escrita por Drew Karpyshyn e conta como o mineiro Dessel, escravo no planeta Apatros, se tornou um dos mais poderosos Dark Lord of the Sith de sua época e instituiu a “Regra de Dois”, onde somente poderiam existir dois Siths simultaneamente, o Mestre e o Aprendiz.
O autor é muito bem sucedido ao enfocar sua linha narrativa no ponto de vista do próprio Dessel (Bane), analisando e externando seus sentimentos, medos, dúvidas e o sofrimento pelo qual passa a personagem e as motivações que o levam a abraçar o lado negro da força.
Em “Path of Destruction” Karpyshyn descreve com detalhes o treinamento e as motivações dos aspirantes a Dark Lords e suas ambições, seus treinamentos e a dinâmica do relacionamento entre os futuros Dark Lords of the Sith na academia.
É nesse ponto que são desenvolvidas e aprofundadas todas as falhas e erros da nova abordagem Sith instituída pelo líder da Irmandade mais poderosa dos Sith (Brotherhood of Darkness) Lord Kaan, onde o título “Darth” deixa de ser usado e todos dentro da irmandade é visto como um igual.
É neste contexto que Bane é treinado e logo se torna um aluno excepcional, passando a questionar certas decisões, conceitos e propósitos da irmandade.

“Path to Destruction” analisa bem os conceitos antigos e contraditórios dos Siths ao longo da história e externa suas falhas, fraquezas e a tentativa de Lord Bane em restaurar antigos conceitos e instaurar novas regras através da busca dos conhecimentos antigos.

A leitura da obra é simples e o autor descreve de forma sucinta os ambientes, focando-se mais no interior de cada personagem e desenvolvendo suas personalidades pouco a pouco.
