Não se deixem enganar! Sei que essa capa linda promete uma fantasia leve e fofa, mas você não encontrará isso aqui...

"There’s nothing out there to punish evil, no one out there to reward the righteous. We’re all just adrift."

A política e a pirataria são bastante relevantes, mas o que eu mais gostei foi o fato de o mar ser uma espécie de deidade, e a a relação entre ele e as sereias é bem interessante também.

"Perhaps the pirates and the witches were right to worship the sea. The sea did not die. The sea was no man."

Muito embora o romance funcione mais como uma motivação do que qualque outra coisa, ele foi bem desenvolvido, porém não tanto quanto o desenvolvimento particular de cada uma das protagonistas, que foi bem mais elaborado.

"The Sea knew their hearts and had decided in her infinite wisdom that she would break every natural rule of the world and see them together"

Enfim, foi uma leitura muito prazerosa, empolgante e emocionante. Recomendo muito!
