Rate ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "Your religion should help you make the decision if you find yourself in that situation, but the policy should exist for you to have the right to make it in the first place. When you say you can't do something because your religion forbids it, that's a good thing. When you say I can't do something because YOUR religion forbids it, that's a problem. " The plot takes place inside a women’s reproductive health services clinic, where a gunman takes everyone inside hostage, using his own motives that of course we only discover at the end of the book, and it was surreal!!! The story is told throughout the day, one single day, from back to front. It describes the story of several characters, who are then held hostage in the clinic, addressing the controversial subject of abortion. It's really interesting how the author brings different perspectives to this subject, using different stories from each of the characters who are at the clinic that day. The employees and the patients, and the reasons why they are there. "Laws are black and white. The lives of women are a thousand shades of gray." I personally have my own opinion on abortion, which made this a difficult read, not because it is a heavy and tiring book, but because it is a very delicate subject. "This is what it means to be human. We are all just canvases for our scars." For those who like controversial and real subjects, this book is highly recommended.
