The Last of Us but fruity
Post apocalyptic midia really catch my attention, once it's easy to understand and at the same time open so much run for world building. And adding romance to all of this, whoa! Incredible.
The book follows Jamie and Andrew, Andrew just meet Jamie by accident, and from unknowings they start to become very good friends, and more then friends. It's so delicious this relationship, we can see how much important they've became to each other in a so natural way. At the same time, each one has its owns personality, fears and willings.
The pacing if the book is on point, not to fast that make who's reading question how the history goes and not to slow that's get boring or make the impression that isn't going anywhere. Following that, the author add the side characters so smoothly and make us like then so greatly, take Henri as an example, she's such a sweet, and we were introduced to her in such a great way.
The character development is sometimes almost imperceptible but it's happening all the time, you perceive as the story goes on. Like, Jamie shooting problem, is there the whole time and is slowly overcome (not without problems) making who's reading get used to it. Other thing that I enjoy so much about this book, specially in Jamie POV, it's how he doesn't name the emotions he feel about Andrew, he doesn't question his sexuality early on, and just realizes it's more then friends-love what he's feeling in a tragic situation, which I mean, it feels correct in a human and writing technique perspective.
The world building is the expected, sometimes I think if would be great if the author explores more the post apocalyptic sceneries, but I catch me not wanting it cus it would take the spot of more important things. It's just in point I think.
In conclusion, 10/10 and it's so sad that's not a Tiktok/Twitter/Internet sensation so more people can read it.
