?Reserving judgements is a matter of infinite hope.?
The Great Gatsby is a novel written by F. Scott Fitzgerald and is considered one of the greatest treasures of American literature.
Through a narrative rich in details, the book transports us to the 1920s, when American society was at its peak in terms of extravagant parties, economic prosperity, among other things.
The book presents complex and captivating characters, with Jay Gatsby at the center of the story. He is a mysterious and individualistic man who achieved a fortune through illicit methods. His main objective is to win back his lost love, Daisy Buchanan, with whom he had a brief romance in the past. Nick Carraway, the narrator of the plot, also stands out.
The story unfolds amid deceptive appearances and fancy parties, brilliantly criticizing the "American dream."
Furthermore, The Great Gatsby also addresses themes such as the search for happiness, money, and the impossibility of changing the past.
In my opinion, it is a very elegant and timeless production that appeals to all age groups. I can certainly say that it is my favorite book, and even after so much time, it continues to win the hearts of its audience today!
