Tinha potencial
Escrevi essa review para o goodreads, então ficou em inglês mesmo:
i'll be honest, i thought this book would be worse than it actually was. the setting is good, it's comfortable, i liked the memories that belly had, it felt like the childhood i never had. i think it had a lot of potential, but it ended up going to waste. the whole book felt shallow because belly was shallow, she tried to convice herself that she was better than taylor or better than any of the girls conrad liked, just because she's not like other girls or because she's more of a "tomboy" (her words not mine), but it just wasn't true. she spent half of the book trying to discribe conrad as this mysterious, lonely figure who was some kind of mastermind that played with her feelings, but he was just a boy. really, just a boy who was a bit annoying, but overall just a teenager dealing with a bad moment.
it wasn't terrible because at times it felt enjoyable, but overall belly is just not that great of a character and that taints the story.
PS.: i heard the audiobook (narrated by lola, the actress that plays belly on the tv series) and i'll say that it helped a lot, she has a conforting voice and it definitely made the book more berable.
