In the violent ganglands of urban America, Rusty-James at 14 has one burning ambition: to be like his fearless brother the Motorcycle Boy. But the Motorcycle Boy is through with gangs: ‘It wasn’t anything like you think it was. It was just a bunch of punks killing each other, like rumble fish, those Siamese fighting fish who’d kill each other if they could’.
But Rusty-James has to defend his own reputation for toughness and his blind desire leads in the end to an explosive and tragic climax.
