Eu estava tão animada com a história de Maria e Magic Lessons foi tudo que eu esperava que fosse! A escrita era linda e cativante, como sempre, e a maneira como Alice Hoffman lentamente construiu a personagem de Maria e o cenário histórico foi tão maravilhosa e envolvente. Eu amei ler sobre as origens da Maria e como ela cresceu e se transformou em quem ela deveria ser.

Cada capítulo tem muita profundidade à medida que a história se desenvolvia e progredia. A história de Maria foi moldada de uma forma que me impossibilitou de parar de ler o livro. Havia muito amor, raiva e medo em torno dela e foi fascinante ver as escolhas que levaram à maldição de Owens.

Houve algumas partes da trama que eu realmente não esperava e essas reviravoltas me pegaram desprevenida na melhor das maneiras! Os personagens de Samuel e Faith eram tão intrigantes e Finney cativou meu coração. Algumas cenas foram difíceis de ler, principalmente no final, mas o resultado se encaixou bem com a história.

E o final! Foi outra grande surpresa, mas foi perfeita e comovente e eu amei cada pedacinho dela. A história de Maria foi uma história de coragem e amor e eu a recomendo para quem procura novas histórias de bruxas para ler - ainda mais se você já é um fã de Da Magia a Sedução.
