Boa leitura

Estou ouvindo a coleção inteira de Sherlock Holmes no librivox.

Gostei mais desse livro do que de alguns dos anteriores. Ele é formado por histórias curtas e empolgantes, assim como o “aventuras de Sherlock Holmes”.

Uma das coisas que mais me chamou atenção é a escolha de Holmes de manter algumas descobertas privadas.

Ele se mostra sempre mais preocupado em fazer o que acha certo do que em seguir a lei de forma acrítica. Nesse sentido, vemos um crescimento do próprio autor ao longo da série, visto que no primeiro livro, “um estudo em vermelho”, Watson ressalta que Holmes não se interessa por nenhum conhecimento além dos que que auxiliem na resolução dos casos.

Nos livros subsequentes fica claro que ele tem outros interesses, lê literatura e constrói um pensamento crítico sobre o próprio trabalho. Nesse livro ele chega a infringir a lei em um dos casos, se colocando na posição do criminoso, para impedir a chantagem de uma de suas clientes.
