Caitlin is stunned when Lynch reveals she, Grunge, and Roxy have been missing for 30 years. He goes on to explain that Earth is losing the war with the D'rahn, but he has secretly developed an enzyme that will wipe the aliens out. Unfortunately, it is also lethal to humans. Sublime bursts in and says the rebels have freed Roxy and Grunge. She and Lynch then turn on Caitlin and subdue her. In the detention block, Grifter, Bobby, and Sarah explain the situation, including Lynch's plan, to Roxy and Grunge. Roxy senses Caitlin is in trouble, and the group moves to rescue her. Aboard the D'rahn flagship, the aliens plan their final invasion of Manhattan while, in the city, Phil Chang and Jackson Dane fight Evolutionaries, mutated D'rahn foot soldiers. Back at IO, Lynch and Sublime extract a cortical sample from Caitlin, explaining that he can use it activate a time machine stored at the UN. Roxy, Grunge, and the rebels burst in and rescue Caitlin, but Chang and Dane enter to help Lynch and capture Grifter. Sigma, Enertia, and Vibe then arrive to help Gen 13. As they escape, Evolutionaries attack and kill Sublime. Later, at the rebel base in Chinatown, Bobby and Sarah reveal that Enertia and Vibe are their children. In the present day, Lynch, Bobby, and Sarah say goodbye to Jim McArthur and deplane his jet at JFK Airport in New York. They are picked up by Maggie Monroe even as IO detects their arrival and deploys assets to capture them. As they cross into Manhattan, Burnout fends off an attack by an IO helicopter.
