Lembrou muito Faulkner, no sentido de que a vida do Suttree não foi diretamente contada nem cronologicamente narrada em nenhum momento - dá pra ter uma vaga ideia do que
aconteceu, mas não é certo.
Lembrou também Steinbeck no que se refere às descrições e aos dramas familiares
E, por último, humoristicamente e critico-socialmente falando, ecos de Mark Twain.
Ou seja, tudo que eu gosto pra caramba de ler reunido em um livro só. Literatura sul estadunidense em sua essência.
