A notável história de Eneida.

A Eneida, de Virgílio, me conquistou de um jeito que nem a Ilíada nem a Odisseia conseguiram. Não é apenas uma imitação dos gregos nem só propaganda política para Roma é tudo isso, mas costurado numa poesia maravilhosa.

É uma leitura que exige paciência. Não é para qualquer momento, nem para qualquer leitor. Recomendo ter sempre um bom material de apoio: notas de rodapé, textos críticos.

Alguns cantos de eneida são realmente impressionante de bons, e alguns deles são:

Canto 2: o melhor de todos.

Canto 4: segundo melhor. A evolução de Dido aqui é perfeita.

Canto 6: incrível. Inclusive, foi ele que me deu vontade de reler Dante.

Canto 12: acho que sem palavras so lendo pra entender.

Ler A Eneida é se deparar com um épico que ecoa até hoje. Deuses, heróis, batalhas, descidas ao submundo… tudo no tom grandioso que só a epopeia clássica consegue dar. É claro que o texto foi feito com um propósito político glorificar a linhagem romana, mas isso não apaga sua força poética.
