"She was a sunny-natured child who simply did not possess whatever it was in most of the rest of mortality that enabled them to move away from the innocent exuberance and loving trust of childhood to a darker place they labeled maturity."
I loved this book so much! So much so that I don't even know what to say. This was definitely the best book for me so far from "The Bedwyns" by Mary Balogh. I loved Josh and Freyja's relationship and how it is based, not only on love, but on affection, honesty and petulance hahahaha.
One thing I talked about in the review of Slightly Wicked and that remains in this one is that I don't like the way the people in the Bedwyn family are considered ugly and not beautiful (especially for something as "trivial" as the nose). But still, I love the fact that Freyja is not shaken by these comments and remains a strong, yet kind person (in the same way as Joshua, who is my newest love).
Furthermore, I really liked that she developed Prue as a character who, even though she has a disability, is still a person who is worthy of respect, care and love. And this is extremely important, both for people to feel represented and to show the world that different people exist and that everyone is equally important.
