I love it!
Ryle and Lily were strangers who met unexpectedly, both seeking momentary relief from their respective pains. The pull of destiny bridges the pair together again some time later. In the midst of their heated love story, Atlas (Lily’s ex-lover) re-enters Lily’s life. All these changes, for better or for worse?
My thoughts ⤵️
Ok so naked truth about this book, I loved it! I loved going through the tough journey with Lily and getting to understand her(and many others) situations. I believe this book spreads a very important message, Showcasing that it’s not easy to leave an abusive situation.
I don’t think this book could have been written more perfectly. from the writing, the plot, to characters…nothing is fabricated. it is raw emotion and realistic.
I find Lily to be one of the best main characters. I love how imperfect she is. Independent. Strong. Intelligent. How she doesn’t make the right decisions all the time. I love how she’s full of love and knows her worth despite the pain. Her circumstances take so much strength and it reflects on a lot of people in real life.
I was so scared that this would end it a way that would have been unrealistic or just covered up in hearts and butterflies, but it didn’t, it quite literally ends with us. and you won’t know what that means until the very end.
This book will make you fall in love, rip your heart out and force you to reconsider your preconceived ideas about abuse. This is the most moving book that I've read in a LONG time. It was absolutely addicting, but so difficult at times.
⚠️ Note: We shouldn’t romanticise this book because yes, there is romance but there is more depth to the story. There is violence, domestic abuse and attempted rape. These sound horrible and they are. They happen to a lot of people and so romanticising this book means romanticising abuse and that’s very, very alarming.
