aquele com um clímax violentamente animado à base de sangue e bizarrice

finalmente! depois de eu ter largado o primeiro na metade (porque assistir o filme antes quebrou meu clima) e ficar um pouco entediada com o segundo, Thomas Harris gloriosamente prendeu toda a minha atenção. "Hannibal" atingiu uma qualidade de horror que, em comparação com os anteriores, pareceu chocante e satisfatoriamente elevado. foi uma verdadeira competição de "quem é o personagem mais bizarro aqui?", e não poderia ter sido melhor. percebi que o que eu queria ter visto desde o princípio era Lecter sendo quem ele era, longe da prisão, ao ar livre, fazendo sua vida com suas próprias escolhas (o que é uma loucura, penso comigo mesma, por mais interessante que ele fosse, continuava sendo um assassino canibal e eu estava torcendo por sua liberdade). o decorrer da leitura ofereceu uma clareza maior (ainda que algumas perguntas tenham ficado sem respostas) sobre a história de fundo de Lecter, com flashbacks e descrições do palácio que ele criou em sua mente para guardar memórias e conhecimento, que foi cativante e humanizou o personagem. o que não gostei foi a breve parte com a narrativa do investigador Pazzi, que se arrastou demais. o que fez a lentidão valer a pena foi o final da ambientação dele ter sido incrivelmente chocante e satisfatório e, também, dado espaço para a volta de Starling com seus capítulos cheios de ação.

sinto que vale a pena tentar.
