Last Sacrifice surprised me. I honestly thought I would be disappointed, but man, I was wrong. The book is addictive, and I couldn't stop reading! I spent 14 hours withouth dragging my eyes out of the screen. The story is perfect. We can see Dimitri changing through the book, in a perfect way. Each time, Rose gets a little closer to him, and brings a small part of the old himself back. It's incredible how Richelle Mead brought back that strong character we used to see in Shadow Kiss, and Frostbite. The one that protects who he loves. Well, that men is back! And he is stronger, more sensible, and sexier, of course!
Rose changes, too. She realizes that her feelings for Adrian Ivashkov aren't enough, and that she doesn't love him like she loves Dimka. I freaked out a LOT reading Last Sacrifice, because Dimitri is EVERYWHERE! And their love is growing, too, we can see that. There are some parts in the book that we can clearly see how Dimitri cares about Rose, how he'd do anything for her... and that's pretty awesome, because he can be brave and a god when it comes to a fight... but at the same time, he can be gentle and lovely with her.
Also, we change our mind about dhampirs and moroi in last Sacrifice. In the book, we meet The Keepers, and they're very weird at the beggining. But as we meet them better, we can actually see how they protect the old traditions in the moroi society, and how the twentieth century changed the way everybody used to live. Some habits are impressive, and some can be really savage.
Other characters, I may say, were disappointed. Though I wanted Dimitri&Rose at the end, I was very sad with Adrian's non-happy-ending. Poor, poor Adrian, he fought a lot with Rose, and humiliated her. At the end, he simply set off, which I thought was horrible. Jill, as well, was a little disappointed. I think everything will be resolved in the spin-off, Bloodlines.
Abe and Janine didn't come back together, but that was the right thing to do.
Well, I LOVED the book. It was a almost-perfect Vampire Academy ending. I just hope I can, someday, find a book series as good as this one. I just hope so, because I'll always drag VA with me. I learned a lot with Rose and Dimitri.
And, I cannot deny it, I cried sooooooooo hard when it ended.. I was counting the days to the book, but now I see how fool I was. Well, it's over, and all I can do, is read over and over again, what I certainty WILL do.
