It's a 4? or 4,5?... I couldn't find the "wow-factor", maybe a nice plot twist? (ok, I wasn't exactly expecting what happened by the end... but it wasn't THAT shocking)
I heard A LOT about this book in the last few years, and absolutely NOTHING of what happened I could have seen it coming. That ending was definately a surprise... but it wasn't something new, you know? It reminds me a lot of The Hunger Games and Divergent.
I love that by the end she's wearing a superhero outfit, I would love to see some jockes about it in the sequel... by the way, how funny would it be for her to team up with Mister Fantastic? lol
I also heard a lot about Warner... I'M STILL WAITING FOR THAT! I was actually anxious for his coming out scene by the end, following Maven from Red Queen steps, but the other way around... :D
I STAN TAHEREH'S WRITING! It was so easy to read, everything happened by the time it had to (at least that's what I felt like). Nothing took long, nothing was too short, it was just right. It's been a while since I read something like that, it made me happy.
I couldn't find any other important female role in the entire book, all other women were there for memories, one scene at best, and very close to none dialogue at all. Every other important character, but the protagonist, was a man. I truly hope to see some more variety in the following books.
Overall, it was a (very?) good book. I couldn't drop my kindle from the moment I started reading, and that counts a lot to me. It was nice entering this new and misterious world. Can't wait to read some more.

Here I am again... I think most of my opinion is the same: kind of no wow factor, lack of female (or diversified, for that matter) characters, couldn't drop the book once I started...
Now that I know more about Warner I can see different layers in his behavior, which is nice. I can also see a different Adam from what I remember, and WOW how they are disgustingly cute together. AND FAST. They had days of knowing each other and were already in the ILY words. I understand Juliette never having someone to care for (or touch) her being so attached to the first person, and Adam partially knowing her background BUT GOSH THEY FELL FAST
Tahereh's writing continues to wow me. The poetry in her paragraphs is truly beautiful, and it's just SO easy to read... I missed that, that's why I'm back to this universe
(now also getting some glimpses/easter eggs that I hadn't noticed before because now I've finished the series - rereading just hits diferently)
Also I think I'm changing the rating to 3? or 3,5?
I've just realized this book is from more than 10 years ago ? AND WE'RE STILL DOING THE BAD SHIT TO NATURE!!! humans really don't take a break, do we?
